Humectants & Diluents

Promising a solution to overcome all your pharmaceuticals and industrial problems.

Our Humectants & Diluent Categories

The humectants are the hygroscopic substance used especially to keep the food items moist. On the other hand, diluents are the liquid substance which is mixed with a coating to reduce the viscosity and increase its flow rate and thus allow easy application on metal surfaces for corrosion prevention. United Foods Corporation understands and helps to overcome all your commercial and industrial requirement for humectants and diluents. Considering how essential it is for the food product manufacturers and pharmaceuticals we provide with the best and outranging quality to meet the moisture and viscosity problems altogether. We believe our customers are our family and producing the most excellent quality products is our only goal.

Sorbitol

A sweet taste sugar alcohol which is metabolized slowly in the human body that occurs naturally or produced synthetically from glucose for manufacturing processes or pharmaceutical aids.

Cream of Tartar

An acid specifically tartaric acid which is the by-product of wine production, left residual of the barrel is used as a leavening agent and prevents re-bonding of sugar.

Glycerine

A colorless, odorless, viscous liquid is non-toxic, and sweet-tasting polyol compound serves as a sweetener and humectant and in pharmaceutical formation.

Sodium Lactate

The sodium salt of lactic acid has a mild saline taste with molecular formula NaC3H5Ois produced by fermentation of sugar source and then neutralizing the resulting lactic acid.

Scientific Description

Humectants are hygroscopic organic compounds whereas diluents are free of particles and thus give a <50 particles background count when measured in volume. These compounds intended to have numerous benefits from the consumer point of view. Moisturizing the hair, countering the drying effect of surfactants and a lot more. Glycerine (C3H8O3), sorbitol (C6H14O6), etc. are the humectants materials used as polyols in most case. Sodium Lactate and white oils are the most common diluents used in today’s pharmaceutical and food producing industries. The choice of humectants and diluents should be made based on the requirements of clinical needs. The right decision can be created with the help of pre-formulation experience as this help to eliminate a few choices and come to a conclusion.
